My neighbor/babysitter, is having a "sweet 16" birthday party on Thursday and she brought a picture of a cake over that she wants me to do, and NO JOKE, its pretty similar to the one you made for your sister. I started laughing and pulled up my facebook to show her your cake you made. I said "my friend is gonna think that im copying her lol". So just so you know, i had nothing to do with this, hehe She got the idea off of a website from googling sweet 16 birthday cakes. It's a 3 tier, Dark royal Blue, and Black cake, with zebra tpye stripes in black on white, on top and bottom layers and the middle is the dark royal blue fondant, with a black ribbon around it. It has Black starts sticking out of it (im nervous about that part). Its a topsy turvey cake. When she pulled the pic up, My hubby started laughing and said "good luck", uh! apparently he doesn't have very much faith in me,,,lol.
But I wanted to tell you that i love that you mixed the round layer with a sqaure layer, Its very creative and artsy looking. You did a really good job on this cake. I can't believe how much you've improved, you just started girl. You've got mad skills. I guess some people it just comes naturally to them. Some people have to go to culinary school, take cake classes, and still can't pull something like that off. YOu are like a pro, on your 4th cake? Great job, girlie.. I can't wait to see what you come up with next.
Thats so funny that you got a request for such a similar cake! You totally could have told me that my cake is so awesome you just HAD to make one yourself! LOL LOL! I steal ideas all the time. I hope no one ever copywrights cake designs, 'cause then i'd be in trouble! :D Oh, and i LOVE mixing the different shapes! It's so funky and cute!
